Consider the playlist that Rain Castillo curated for SEASON zine, in celebration of her taking centre stage in the new inclusive Converse x Liverpool FC  partnership, as the quickest way to get inside the singer and The Voice UK season 11 semi-finalist’s musical brain.

The 24-year-old is the embodiment of the exciting ways that new-gen Liverpool fans are expressing their creativity, and she models the exclusive Converse x Liverpool FC (LFC) capsule collection that dropped on April 6th. ‘Being a Red doesn’t just mean wearing a jersey or standing on the terraces,’ says Steven Bramble, VP/GM Converse Western Europe. ‘It’s about expressing yourself and your love of football in whatever way you want.’

Castillo already told us in detail about how she’s pushing her love of jazz and R&B to the limit with her guitar-playing and by crafting a unique crossover neo-soul meets hip hop and Afrobeats sound. So the final 24 tracks are doing and giving a lot, jumping from the Frank Sinatra song that the Filipina Scouser often covers at live gigs, to the fellow singers she rates the most like Jhené Aiko and Cleo Sol, along with old school and modern classics including her own single WavelengtH which is up first.

Each song means a lot to me. Who I am, what I like, and my personality. Starting out with the very first song I wrote, WavelengtH, Mahalia and Burna Boy – Simmer, Daniel Caesar and H.E.R –  Best Part, and  Justin Beiber – Sorry were all songs that I performed during my The Voice process.

Khalid – Better and Tems – Free Mind are tracks that make me feel good and grateful for life. When I listen to a song, I really listen to it – from the lyrics to the track production.
— Rain Castillo
LOVE and While We’re Young – both by Jhené Aiko have healing frequencies within them which makes these tracks even better. She is one of my favourite female artists and she inspires me to write music like that and aspire to do better.

SZA – Conceited and Giveon –  Lost Me are the songs that inspire me to put myself first and help me try to love myself more.
